Christmas presents

Making my parents Christmas presents. Ones a dog and the other is a football. 

Name tile!

The tile is finished and came out better than I thought it would. My favorite part of the project is the lion because it actually looks like one. 

Slab box

The slab box is done. I'm just waiting for it to dry out.

Double pinch pot

The orb looks great! I am very satisfied with the look of it. Some people think it looks like an egg but it is an orb! 

Coil pot

I'm making a pitcher out of my coil pot. I need to add a handle then I'm good. 

Pitch pot monster

The monster is amazing! It is soo perfect!! There isn't a thing I would change. 

Name tile

I started glazing my name tile. It is difficult glazing the name because the paint gets on places I don't want it to be at.

The thing I like most about this project is that we got to be creative and graze our pots how ever we liked. The thing I learned most from this project was that making straight line is very important to make the pot look good. Plus if you have an underglaze you need to be sure to put the clear coat fully on. For my future projects I can improve on making my pots more level and the same thickness throughout and to paint more precisely and make my lines as straight as possible. 

Pitch pot and monster

All my pitch pots look great! My favorite one is the poka dotted one! My creature is started to get glazed and it will be great! 

Double pinch pot

The pot is a little too small. The clay were are usin is dry so it's kinda hard to work with. It's giving me some trouble. :(

Complete monster

The monster is complete! He didn't break apart or anything! I'm very pleased. The monster has scales on its side and a little afro behind his head.

Pinch pot monster

The creature I made is very friendly! He won't hurt anyone. He only had one eye!

Completed Tile

The tile looks good! It was hard to fit my whole name though. The lion really makes the project!!

Update on Name Tile

Working on the name on it! Seems to be the hardest part of project. I'm loving the lion though. The footballs are hand made and I think they are pretty good. I hope over the weekend it doesn't dry out! 

All About Me

Hi, I'm Tanner. I attend Bishop Gorman High School and I'm a sophomore this year. The art class that i am currently taking is Ceramics 1. I decided to take Ceramics because it sounds like a fun class and my friends told me to take it. Other than Ceramics, my favorite class is Math. I play Football at BGHS and I'm on the junior varsity team. Outside of school, I like to socialize and hang out with friends. For this semester, I hope to get straight A's and continue to get good grades.
